The last week of February sees the Watson EQ courtyard graced by one of Canada’s finest electronic music exports - Mike Shannon. A true “DJ’s DJ”, Shannon is no stranger to our stables and any club worth its salt, he has won over a legion of fans and the respect of his peers alike for his deep crates and lightning-fast mixing skills.
Piloting the platters before Mike Shannon, Head Honcho Kerry Wallace steers the ship into the late evening. Miss Farina returns to Aussie shores and ensures the dancefloor is boot scooting throughout the afternoon. We’ve gifted Luan a set of keys for his birthday to ensure he can open the day’s proceedings for us with his stripped back, minimal deep house delicacies.
By Night we welcome back Jack Love, for a short but sweet Rabble with the Krabble. The Krab Records boss man has been soaring across Europe on many-an-adventure, slinging red bulls with one hand, and taking notes with the other as he delves deep into the house music scene across the pond. Once the ever-so-slightly better-looking half of the infamous duo, 2 for 7, Jack has eclosed from the chrysalis of his Aubreen Cocoon and spread his wings to take control of the platters that matter, destitute of a partner.
Although never far from his old accomplice, the other half of the duo (1 for approximately 3.5) stalks the night by the moniker of Dylan Sargant. Despite supporting Liverpool, he is actually an alright bloke, and packs a mean punch on a big system. You’ll find him dishing out the first rounds out the night as he makes his Carousel debut, ensuring the floor is warmed up nicely, before he recedes back to his dark corner to watch Chelsea conquer Liverpool in the EFL cup.
From the poet, Lucila Godoy Alcayaga, to widely adored folk musician Violetta Parra, to the fierce warrior Janequeo, a quick look back through history will show you Chilean women stand tall amongst the some of the greatest, revered for their resilience, strength and creativity. Our Summer Resident Josefina Tapia is no exception; a phenom behind the decks, and a silent warrior in the studio, her passion for music is only matched by her infectious personality.
